Meet the Makers

We’re Madeleine and Shaun, a husband-and-wife maker workshop on the Wirral. Since 2019, Bee Kind Reimagined has grown around a simple idea: follow interesting ideas and find the right way to bring them to life.

Madeleine creates sewn fabric pieces, from tapestry bags and cushion covers to doorstops and practical accessories. Shaun works with wood, laser engraving, digital design and 3D printing. Our skills often meet in the middle, with materials and methods chosen to suit each idea.

Many of our designs begin with a customer request, a useful problem to solve or something we would like to make for ourselves. Inspiration can also come from an unusual flea-market find that deserves a new life—or even something unexpected that we pick up while walking along the beach.

We sketch, prototype and test pieces at markets and festivals, listening to people and continuing to refine our ideas.

A few years ago, we considered opening our own shop but quickly realised that a van was a better fit for us. It allows us to remain mobile, take our unique products on the road and share our work with as many people and communities as possible. The conversations and connections we make with customers from all over the country continue to shape our mission and fuel our passion.

Our own wedding became one of our most personal projects. We made the cake stand, welcome signs, wooden place and seating pieces, and a barrel-lid guest book that later became a coffee table. It captured what “reimagined” means to us: keeping the story of an object while giving it a new purpose.

We don’t have one way of making things. We follow interesting ideas and work out how to make them well. Our aim is to create unusual gifts, useful pieces and one-off commissions with personality, care and a story worth remembering.
